Spicy Roses

It’s that time of the year – when the heavens open up and shower upon us, cooling down the earth scorched by the Indian summer. The monsoons are probably everyone’s favorites season, if you ignore the inevitable flooded streets that accompany them! The best way to enjoy the rains is to stay indoors and cook up some soul food.

Samosas are an all-time favorite of most Indians, but there is something about the crackle of its freshly fried cover that complements the pitter patter of raindrops so perfectly that it just becomes the go-to snack once the dark clouds gather! But In spite of Samosas, I am trying here another version of samosas, which are so spicy, colorful and beautiful. The stuffing must be lil spicy when you are craving for that Pakoras feeling. Here, I had make the different version of samosas with the concept of Roses. The thought came when I was actually thinking of samosa pinwheels.

Suddenly, My little Princess was enjoying her Baby Tv's show, And I just took a Tv remote, fetching the channels, I stop at one Place, where the children's craft work was going on and they were teaching kids how to make roses from papers.... From that I got an Idea to make Roses From the Dough, First I tried to make them with a simple Roti Dough, and then I was Quite Sure that the result will be amazing and Here it is...

So, Try this amazing and gorgeous looking Spicy Roses in this monsoon season. For these we will need:

Preparation Time: 20 min
Cooking time: 15 min
Serves: 4

To make a Dough:

Ingredients:

For Red Roses

1 Cup All Purpose Flour
2 Tbsp Oil
Salt to taste
Red color, As required

For Yellow Roses

1 Cup All Purpose Flour
2 Tbsp Oil
Salt to taste
Yellow color, As required

To make a Stuffing:

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Boiled, mashed Potato
2 Tbsp Boiled and Finely Chopped carrots
2 Tbsp Boiled and mashed Green peas
1 Tbsp Capsicum, Finely Chopped
2 Tbsp Red Chili Sauce
1 tsp Garlic paste
2 Tbsp Mysore Dosa's Chutney (Soaked Dry red chili+Soaked Chana Daal+Garlic Paste +salt)
1/2 Cup Fresh Bread Crums
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Line up all the Ingredients. And First we will Prepare a Dough for Red Roses.

2. Take a Bowl and add All Purpose Flour, Salt , Oil and a Red Food Color. Mix all the Ingredients well and make a little Hard Dough with water. Take some Oil in your palm and soft the dough, cover the dough with lid and set aside. (Note: If you don't want to use any Food Color You can use Beetroot water to make a Dough)

3. Like a same way, Lets make a Dough for Yellow Roses. Take a Bowl and add All Purpose Flour, Salt , Oil and a Yellow Food Color. Mix all the Ingredients well and make a little Hard Dough with water. Take some Oil in your palm and soft the dough, cover the dough with lid and set aside.

4. Now, Get ready to make a Stuffing. For this, Take a Bowl and add Boiled and mashed Potatoes, Carrots, mashed Green Peas, Capsicum and Garlic Paste, Mix them well. Add Salt to Taste.

5. After mixing all the ingredients add Red chili sauce and Mysore Dosa's Chutney and and Fresh Bread Crums. Mix them all well. and your stuffing is Ready. (Note. See, You can use any thick chutney in this stuffing, Like, Thai red Paste, or Green Chutney, any chutney which is thick in its consistency because for this recipe we will need firm stuffing. coz we are going to fry this Roses).

6. Now, make a triangle shape of this stuffing, and place them aside.

7. Now, Lets make Roses from the Dough, First Take Red dough and make one ball from it and roll it like a puri, Take a big round cookie cutter and cut the puri to finishing the shape. Like this make 6 puris of same size.

8. Now Take One puri from the six, and Place a drop of water at a middle of puri and place another puri again place a drop of water on second puri and place a third one. You can see in picture.
9. On the bunch of this puris, Place a triangle stuffing on a middle of this puri bunch, and mark three cuts on the puris. (See, Picture).

10. Now, From that take one part of cut, and one by one cover this stuffing like a Rose petals. At the end the your Beautiful Rose will be ready. (See Picture)

11. Like a same way, make Yellow Roses.

12. Now, Heat a deep pan with oil, place this roses in it and switch off the gas for a minute, Then again switch on the gas on slow heat and fry this roses without changing a color. When you feel they are fried take a spatula and take out the roes by keeping them up side down so the excess oil will be removed from the roses. and Put them on a tissue paper.

13. Serve These Beautiful looking Roses with of spicy stuffing, And They will Go Great with Tomato Sauce, or Green Chutney or with Salsa Sauce and Yes, The Hot Cup of tea Of Corse. :)

Enjoyyyy The Rainy Season!!!!!!!!!!!
